Query: Is Catholicism cool? This is an easy one. No. Despite being sprinkled into trend pieces with wild abandon, it’s not trendy either. (And demographically speaking, the Catholic Church is mostly shrinking.) Are Catholics cool? It depends on who you’re talking about, I guess. Not me.

What is Catholicism, then?

Mostly, I think, it’s a brand.1
