Imagine this, but instead of OraVet you have a corgi so overwhelmed with the thrill of getting a boiled egg yolk that she hides it in your couch cushions 🫠

Similar dynamic in our house - Frances is not that interested in rawhide chews and won't even pick one up if you drop it on the floor in front of her. Olga will snatch one from your hand and carry it away to greedily and loudly munch it. It will eventually dawn on Frances that if she does nothing, Olga will come and take the chew, and that thought will cause Frances to start growling, just sort of generally. Olga is a real problem for Frances' mental health, because Olga has never had an original thought in her life. Instead, Olga has excellent hearing and can, from any distance across the house, hear Frances getting any attention or satisfaction and will come running to horn in on it. Consequently, when you're petting Frances, she's always looking over her shoulder and worrying.

I once went to visit my college friend Paul at his family home in Minneapolis during the winter break, and his family had a big cat named Chester who would "collect all the rubberbands in the house" and would gather them and leave them in his food bowl, upon which someone in the family would have to go redistribute the rubberbands again for Chester to find. I know cats are insane in a totally different way but I do love when animals have a collection-based hobby.

third dog appears to be a wire fox terrier which my BF is obsessed with us possibly getting some day... please confirm/deny the temperament of possible wire fox terrier so he can add to his dossier...

he is indeed a wire fox terrier! he's good for my mother's allergies. his name is Argos!

he's a sweet boy—unless you are Buster (mutual hatred) or a chipmunk (his coming means death)—but very rambunctious and high-energy, really needs to have stuff to do and space to run around. he is also incapable of learning from negative experiences in kind of a funny way. like if he eats a bee and gets stung he'll be like "i'll just eat MORE BEES to show them who is in charge." he's very curious and stubborn and affectionate.

he's the most "dog" of the three dogs I think… very smart but in a clear dog way. as opposed to boswell who is smart in an insane enchanted human way. also your bf probably knows this but you have to take dogs with a coat like this one to special groomers.

anyway, i would say: great dog, if gotten as a puppy it's maybe more work than normal puppies because you really want to have established commands the dog will follow once he is larger and stronger than you. a wire fox terrier WILL kill little animals (like chipmunks or mice, not like… chihuahuas) if given the chance, it's just what they've been bred to do. if we see a frog or something outside we try to get it out of his line of sight (with mixed results).

but my one "hmm" would be… i don't think he'd be suited to city life at all unless one of you is home most of the time and willing to take five or six walks a day. just very high energy. whenever i'm dogsitting him he will like come up and punch me because i'm being so boring (reading).
